Welcome to The Dinosaur Encyclopedia Online!
This is a real wiki! Please edit this page, create new pages, and invite others to use the wiki.
The Dinosaur Encyclopedia Online is exactly what the name says. It's an online catalog of the Dinosauria, with interesting side notes and information on new discoveries. Have fun! Also check out our google sites page at

The Dinosaur pages
The Dinosauria is split up into four parts: The Cerapoda, Sauropodamorpha, Theropoda, and Thyreophora. We have lists of individual Dinosaurs there.
Why we are doing this
There is no reason why the public should be completely ignorant about Dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals. We, along with the very good writers of
Wikipedia dinosaur pages and other Dinosaur sites, are trying very hard to help others learn about Dinosaurs, one of the more interesting and fastest growing subjects of Biology. And it helps show off our impressive knowledge of our favorite animals...
How it works
If you are a site member, you can contribute information. We will be looking through every article to check for inaccuracies, spelling mistakes, and (we hope we never havecheck for this) vandalism. We will try to use the most accurate and up-to-date information possible, so you can be assured knowing that this website is a good source. I wouldn't use it as a source in your next research paper, though!
What you'll find on this site
The bulk of articles on this site will be about each individual Dinosaur. We won't go to species level, as that would mean a huge number of pages on our site. Rather, we'll stay at the Genus level. For example, Tyrannosaurus is a genus. Paleontologists are pretty sure more than one species exists, but the fossil record is so spotty that we've only been able to name one species. That species is Tyrannosaurus rex. If there was another species of Tyrannosaurus we would put both on the same page of the site, halving the number of pages instantaneously.
What information we give about each Dinosaur
We will give the genus and species, along with length, weight, feeding style, the place it lived and the type of environment, and some interesting information about the Dinosaur. Check out the Sample Dinosaur Page.
Will there be Deinonychus?
At the behest (demand at gunpoint) of one of our staff members, there will definitely be Deinonychus. Visit it here.
